چکیده
Fully 3D and multidimensional geological models are key for energy, mining water resources assessment management, which has a great economic impact. provide critical information regarding geometric properties of the bodies interest, such as ore deposits or reservoirs, allowing inference volumes availability to be exploited. However, defining useful methodology create fully digital model volcanic islands is still very challenging due intrinsic complexity observed in structure systems. Two-dimensional maps, associated vertical cross-sectional diagrams borehole water-mining tunnels (galleries) logs were examined on El Hierro Island. A modelling procedure using software GeoModeller obtained first island, basis formation definitions analysis. Surface, volume center mass estimations differentiated sub-units allowed better understanding spatial distribution evolution cycles Island over time. The provided geometry correlatable with activity lava/pyroclast deposition mechanisms that ultimately defines units. This provides new variables valuable investigation existing relationships between rift zones giant lateral collapses. In addition, island will support building hydrogeological geothermal Island, advancement sustainability isolated

متن کاملAdvanced SAR Interferometric Techniques for Monitoring Nonlinear Volcanic Deformation – Test Site El Hierro Island
SAR Interferometric (InSAR) techniques are widely applied for analyzing geophysical and tectonic deformations and for improving modeling techniques, with the benefits of surface deformation measurements covering areas from several to a hundred kilometers in size with a satisfactory accuracy (theoretically in the millimeter range). Nevertheless the accuracy and availability of deformation measur...
متن کاملLong-term volcanic hazard assessment on El Hierro (Canary Islands)
Long-term hazard assessment, one of the bastions of risk-mitigation programs, is required for land-use planning and for developing emergency plans. To ensure quality and representative results, long-term volcanic hazard assessment requires several sequential steps to be completed, which include the compilation of geological and volcanological information, the characterisation of past eruptions,...
متن کاملHigh Potash Volcanic Rocks and Pyroclastic Deposits of Damavand Volcano, Iran, an Example of Intraplate Volcanism
Damavand is a fascinating dormant stratovolcano, 60 km to the ENE of Tehran located in the Alborz Mountains. Damavand volcanic products consist of lava flows and pyroclastic fall, flow and surge deposits from different eruption cycles. The volcanic rocks ranges from trachyandesite to trachyadacite and minor basalt. The mineral assemblage consists of potash feldspar (Or43/7), Plagioclase (An25 t...
متن کاملTransient Changes in Bacterioplankton Communities Induced by the Submarine Volcanic Eruption of El Hierro (Canary Islands)
The submarine volcanic eruption occurring near El Hierro (Canary Islands) in October 2011 provided a unique opportunity to determine the effects of such events on the microbial populations of the surrounding waters. The birth of a new underwater volcano produced a large plume of vent material detectable from space that led to abrupt changes in the physical-chemical properties of the water colum...
